The Town Mouse has put on its dancing shoes. It will be taking part in the 11th SGDF Singapore National DanceSport Championships on Saturday 3 April 2010. Town Mouse's usual partner Lofty Lady claims she's busy with work and won't be competing. Sigh. If a mouse can come out at night to dance after a hard day's chasing cheese at work, why can't you? But Town Mouse has propositioned a new partner for this and challenge in the Waltz event under the lowest category of dance.
The new partner (Mighty Ms Mouse) is rather good, despite the height disparity. But being forced to dance basic steps highlights a great deal of problems that Town Mouse has. Such as:
1. Need to chin up and look higher.
2. Need to stretch back more
3. Need to maintain vertical line (keep back and neck in line) and horizonal line (keep arms up and back)
4. Do a nice floaty spin turn
5. Move like a Bentley Continental GT, slow but powerful.
6. No Indian head (head keeps moving around)
7. Hip Sway
8. Do your Weave properly.
There's only one week to go. Can Town Mouse defeat the current leaders on the board (who had an easy time because Town Mouse skipped the last Nationals due to work...grrrrrr)? Can Town Mouse get a good first 3 steps out of his waltz? Will Town Mouse get in a last good practice session? Can Town mouse one day dance like this (see pic)?
Town Mouse's Dancesport Goals: To be SGDF ranked top 3 in Standard Ballroom (5 dance) by 2015. To do Latin for fun but still totally kick ass.
